Pause with Poetry for National Poetry Month
As National Poetry Month approaches in April, I'm so excited to share my latest offering:
Pause with Poetry for National Poetry MonthFrom Challenge to Pause
Earlier this year, I had the idea of offering a free "Poetry Challenge" for National Poetry Month in April.
At the time, the familiar language of "challenge" felt exciting and full of possibility to me. Now? Who needs another challenge? Not me, that's for sure! Still, for many of us, it's a good time to PAUSE. The perfect time for POETRY. With that reframe in mind, I'd like to invite you to sign up for Pause with Poetry. If you sign up now, each day in April you'll receive an email that includes a link to a poem for reading and four prompts to inspire your writing -- if you're so moved to write during this time. No challenge. No pressure. Just daily reminders to take a PAUSE. To read or write a POEM. If you sign up by 3/31/20, you'll receive the first email on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
Each email includes:

Need a late start? If you didn't get a chance to sign up by 3/31/20, no worries! Sign up now and you'll get the first of 30 daily challenge emails in your inbox right away:

Many of the poems in Pause with Poetry were written by poets in my community.
I plan to continue spotlighting writers throughout the year. Do you have any work I can spotlight? I wrote a poem today! A villanelle, in fact. Would love to share part of it, if I may. Please let me know how/where. Thank you!
