"Parenthood Chronicles:
Creative Ways to Document
Your Pregnancy, Birth & Parenting Stories"

Sunday, April 30th, 2017
2-4:30pm

Malaya Midwifery
824 Redondo Ave
Long Beach, CA

Dare to tap into the creative and generative energy sparked by your pregnancy, birthing, and parenting! As parents or parents‐to‐be, we often have limited time and space to reflect on, write about, or otherwise document and share our stories. In this workshop, you’ll learn simple ways to tap into your creative spirit in order to capture (and potentially share) your unique perspective—even when you’re short on time. A great time to connect with yourself away from the obligations of family and parenting. Bring a notebook or paper, pens, pencils, and whatever else inspires your creativity!

This workshop includes:
• Meditation & Movement
• Instruction on Simple, Practical, and Unexpected Ways you can Document and Share your Stories
• Guided Writing Exercises
• Resources for Future Inspiration

Womentorship

AROHO Studio Hour
Saturday, August 15, 2015

By honoring our mentors, we fortify our communities and tap into the power of collaboration even as we journey on our own creative paths. During this studio hour, come reflect on and celebrate one of your living mentors or role models. To help deepen our reflections we will use: guided meditation, writing prompts, model essays from the book Women Poets on Mentorship: Efforts & Affections, samples of your mentor’s work (bring some!), and silent working time. At the end of our session, you will share your creative tribute (ode, letter, essay, collage, story, drawing, etc), and we will celebrate the women who have helped pave our way.
