My birthday month zoomed on by (I didn't even get that massage!). I am, however, happy to report that the website is coming along nicely (more on that below).

I don't know about you, but election day is on my mind. Can you believe midterms are finally on Tuesday?

I, for one, am both super anxious and cautiously optimistic...

A few weeks back, I shared this message on my personal Facebook page:

I told my cousin's daughter about the ACLU summer institute last year, she went, and now she is telling her friends to register to vote before the deadline on her instagram. She's only a junior in HS and can't vote herself--yet!

I'm inspired by my cousin's daughter and all of the young people who are stepping up and letting their voices be heard.

At the same time, I know they need us to do our part. So here I am doing mine.

PERSONAL UPDATE

My husband & my birthday was lovely.

Yes, we share the same birthday, same year, different birth coasts.
Yes, it's weird.

We had a birthday cookie instead of cake and our toddler ate most of it.
Fun times for all. Especially for the toddler -- lol. We also snuck in a date night that week: toddler free dining & wine -- woohoo!

WEBSITE UPDATE

My website is coming along really well. I kept the same template, so it might not look very different at first glance, but I've made some serious updates below the surface. 

I have more changes to implement in the coming months, but am glad I dedicated serious attention to this project in October.

If you like geeking out on projects like these as much as I do, here's a quick overview of some of the major changes and upcoming updates:

• After 8 years on a free Weebly account, I finally upgraded and was able to add and design a Custom Footer that includes links to my Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Contact page, and Newsletter Sign Up.
• I updated the Home page
• I streamlined the Main Menu: 7 items (for now); no drop-down menus
• I created new pages: About page, Resources page, and Courses page.
• I'm still working on the sign up forms for the Courses page.
• I'll also change my e-mail service provider in the new year, so I'll update all the opt-in forms throughout the site before then.

I hope the new updates make for an easier user experience. Take a look around and let me know what you think so far.
