3 Day Guided Reflection on Your 2020 Writing Life
TL:DR
You'll receive daily writing prompts to help you intuitively and strategically reflect on your 2020 Writing (and/or Creative) Life.
By gaining clarity on what worked well (and what didn't) in 2020, you'll be ready to set intentions and chart a course for a successful 2021 To receive the first email in the 3-Day series on Monday, December 14, Hey Writers & Creatives,
Feeling tempest-tossed by the cluster that's been 2020?
Wanting a game plan for 2021 that can withstand the next round of shutdowns, but weary of making any plans at all in this unpredictable environment? Now, more than ever, you need to get clear on where you've been, where you want to go, and exactly how you'll go about getting there. The truth is when you get super clear, it becomes infinitely easier to shift gears and adjust your plan when you're thrown a curveball or 20(20). This year, I'm offering a brand new 3 day email series (for free) that will guide you through the first three steps in my tried and true annual planning process:Logistics:
Starting on Monday, December 14, you'll receive the first of the daily emails. In each one, you'll receive a simple prompt that will help you reflect deeply on your 2020 Writing Life in preparation for making plans for 2021.
After spending just 15-30 minutes responding to each prompt, you'll have:
And you'll be ready to:
Who is this email series for?
I had the writers and creatives in my community, especially women writers of color, in mind when I designed this email series.
That being said, the prompts will serve any writers or creatives committed to reflecting on 2020 as the first step in planning for their creative lives in 2021. In addition, non-creatives will also find that the activities can be adapted for other professions or aspects of their lives (family, money, hobbies). Hi, I'm Li Yun
Here's what folks have to say about using my process:I feel more confident having plotted things out, validated, and flexible but intentioned. I’ve already crossed out obligations in my calendar in favor of more writing time. And it felt so generous to center these around quarterly celebration. Reflecting on the past year helped me realize how much I accomplished. Then the focus on setting up intentions for the next year made me realize how much I can do this year. "I absolutely loved the holistic approach to goal-setting in the workshop! Up until that point, I had only ever set career goals or your typical New Year's Resolution type goals, but Li Yun helped us to set goals in all areas of our lives—marriage, family, travel, writing, and, of course, career—and that made all the difference in the world since the overarching goal for me is always to integrate my work into my life, into my dreams. A beautiful experience!"

Yup. Someone asked why my college degrees were not framed/on the wall- I was confused. My family didn't celebrate anything. This year, I used a writing goal sheet from @liyunalvarado & it includes listing how/when you will celebrate every benchmark. It's been super helpful. Highly recommend Li Yun's planning guides & resources for writers (and artists in general). Helped me set and keep track of writing goals, purpose, etc. Check them out at the link below.
