Gold Line Press and Ricochet Editions' 2x2 reading series presents "Place, Body, Memory," a reading and discussion that explores the haunted terrain of place and memory. From the blanketing snow of Antarctica to the history of anti-Black violence that still reverberates across the fabric of the U.S, readers Douglas Manuel, Caitlin Scarano, Dennis James Sweeney, and Li Yun Alvarado will share poetry and prose that peers deep into the way our sense of being, feeling, and knowing come from such complicated geography. The reading will be followed by a Q&A hosted by Dana Johnson, author of In the Not Quite Dark, a short story collection in which Downtown Los Angeles becomes as much a provocative character as well as setting for the assorted characters living and passing through the city.
